From:Steve Richardson I go on a lot of long-distance trips across north america and overseas, so I know how easy it is to get bored out of your mind being stuck in a plane or car for hours at a time. To help the hours go by, I like to take some of my DVD collection along with me. I regularly rip movies and TV shows to my laptop and iPod from my DVD collection because I own at least a few hundred DVDs and carrying them around with me in case I want feel like watching one on the road would be a huge pain to say the least. As I said I've used several different DVD ripping programs, all of which cost around 50-60 dollars. Might as well use the most premium programs for the amount of ripping I do, right? I try to get the best quality and try to fit the most DVDs on my computer. I started running into some problems with each of the programs I've tried so far, however. I won't mention their names because I don't want to bad mouth them here... but it was one thing after another with these programs... One of them couldn't rip copy protected DVDs, another didn't have support for the best and most recent codecs I wanted to use (XVid, which makes the video very high quality with low file size), and most of them also made very LOW quality iPod videos. Yet another was just a very unstable program and became a hassle to use because it would freeze up on me in the middle of ripping. Imagine all that with 50 and 60 dollar, so-called 'premium' programs! Geez...
After a few weeks trying this new program called iSofter DVD Platinum, however, I've realized that it's a program which is as solid and fully featured as you can get - but surprisingly I got it at a very reasonable low price compared to other programs I've had. The feature list is very long, its rips DVDs faster than any program I've used before (including copy-protected DVDs) and it supports just about any format you can think of.
So you can either try out every DVD ripping software out there on the market like I have (and spend a small fortune while doing it) or you can take my advice and try out DVD Platinum.
Check out the feature list to see what benefits come with owning the program:
I hope you enjoy DVD Platinum, I know it's saved me a lot of time. Take care till next time, - Steve Richardson |
